Commission defers water-tank decision, asks for future engineering submittal

"My recommendation is just leave it off for now and come back with a new initiative if once you've locked it down," one commissioner said during the discussion. The applicant acknowledged the uncertainty about classification and engineering and said the tank was currently a placeholder; he also said the owner's intention was that it could be a functional emergency-storage tank with a capacity in the range of 5,000 gallons but that dedicated engineering would be required.
Because engineering, classification in setbacks, and safety/security concerns remain unresolved, the commission’s recommendation conditions the approval on removing the tank from the current site-plan consent or labeling it as a future proposed feature; any future water-tank proposal must return with full engineering and distribution plans and be processed separately.
