Selectboard directs culvert standards, debates road-commission structure

The Isle La Motte Selectboard handled several roadway matters on Jan. 8, including a culvert complaint and a new culvert application for New Road. Chair Peter Brzozowy said the town requires an 18-inch culvert and 24-hour notice to the Town Clerk before work may begin; Rusty Spaulding inspected a reported culvert and agreed to patch it.
The board also debated whether to have a single Road Commissioner or a three-member Road Commission. Joe Deller said he would draft a job description for a three-member commission for future discussion, and Robin Martin expressed interest in the Road Commissioner position. The Town Mileage Report was approved and signed during the meeting.
