Solano County Office of Education audit returns clean opinion for 2023–24

An external audit of Solano County Office of Education financials for 2023–24 found the district’s financial statements presented fairly in all material respects and reported no audit findings, the auditor told the board Jan. 8.
The Solano County Board of Education received a clean audit for the 2023–24 fiscal year on Jan. 8. Christy White of Christy White Inc. told trustees the auditor’s opinion is that the financial statements are presented fairly in all material respects and that there were no audit adjustments.
"In our opinion, the financial statements are presented fairly in all material respects," Christy White said, adding the audit found the district in compliance with state and federal program requirements the firm reviewed. White cited three parts to the report: the financial-statement opinion, a state-compliance auditors’ report and a federal-compliance auditors’ report. The presentation noted reviews of special education and federal mental-health and resiliency programs.
Trustees asked about the audit process and the audit team; White said this engagement is year two of a three-year contract and that an audit principal and managers are assigned to the work. The board thanked staff for their work preparing for the audit and accepted the report as presented.
