McKenna Enriquez, who oversees the city’s Small Business Connector program, presented awards to local businesses at the start of the Dec. 17 council meeting, praising the program’s partnership with Nevada SBDC and the city’s business hub. “We are able to help people from basically just an idea to a fully started business,” Enriquez said, citing the program’s on‑the‑spot assistance for entrepreneurs across the valley.
Mayor and councilmembers joined Enriquez in recognizing Dulceria La Colmena (Outstanding Growth), Kijutsu Do Fight System (Customer Service), Family Nutrition (Community Impact) and Photo Motion Boots LLC (Up‑and‑Coming). Enriquez noted the connector team includes Nevada SBDC staff at UNLV and a city business hub lead; the mayor and council thanked organizers and encouraged continued local patronage.
