Commissioners asked for specific culinary‑water demand estimates and clarification whether the mine's water use would limit future residential taps.
Greg Hunt told the commission the company owns water rights on Mud Creek and plans to pump and accumulate water in a tank for fire suppression and dust control, but he acknowledged the town needs quantified engineering documents. "We will put a tank for mine fire suppression and dust suppression...and have it available so that we could provide the pressure needed in an emergency," Hunt said. Commissioners asked for engineering specs, anticipated tank volume and confirmation whether hydrants and hydrant pressure will be independent of the town's culinary system.
The commission also asked for documentation of planned hydrant coverage for surface operations and how spill containment for fueling and shop waste will be handled. The applicant said wastes would be collected and hauled offsite and that sediment/oil skimming controls are included in designs, but commissioners labeled the current submittal "insufficient" and asked for the data in writing so staff and the public can review.
