ELITE charter compliance update: SCOE reports documents received, next check-in Aug. 27

Banes Wright listed document receipts and dates to the board: “SCOE received the May cash flow on July 19, the June bank statements on July 22, instructional minutes on July 31, bell schedule on July 31, proof of insurance on August, concussion protocol on August 5, [and] master schedule on August 8,” she said, summarizing the materials that had been submitted and noting that ELITE missed its July check-in.
Trustees asked detailed follow-up questions about the proof of insurance and a partially bound playground opening identified in the fiscal operations and risk management audit. Michelle (identified in the narrative exchange) said the proof of insurance is a standard declaration page covering professional, general and automobile liability and that the MOU specifies coverage limits. On the playground item, staff said they had email confirmation the work was “in progress” but lacked third-party evidence showing repairs were completed; trustees asked for documentation and clearer timelines.
The board accepted the update and noted ELITE will appear at its next scheduled meeting on Aug. 27 for follow-up. No formal enforcement action was taken at this meeting; trustees discussed the snapshot rubric revisions staff prepared to clarify categories such as 'meets expectations' and 'needs attention.'
