Board holds first reading of conflict-of-interest policy; Form 700 reminder

Tina Maxwell presented a state-mandated first reading of Board Policy BP 9270 regarding Conflict of Interest and Ethics Training and told the board the policy will be brought back for a second reading in April. Maxwell also reminded trustees that the 2025-26 Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) she sent on Feb. 23 is due back to her April 1, 2026.
The policy review is part of an even-year required review cycle; no substantive policy changes were adopted at the meeting. The board recorded the procedural first reading and staff will return with the second reading and any recommended edits at the April meeting.
