Special Education leadership described a broad response to school closures: Case managers and service providers developed individualized Distance Learning Plans (DLPs) for roughly 670 students to preserve services and plan for compensatory instruction where needed. SELPA Coordinator Chuck Wayman said staff had completed most contacts with families and converted Extended School Year services to a distance format to reduce service backlogs (SEG 692–692).
Chuck Wayman introduced Workability Project Coordinator David Wright, who outlined the Workability post-high-school transition program that provides pre-employment services, career curriculum, employment placement, and a one-year follow-up for students with disabilities. Board discussion focused on staffing, summer employment limitations, and the effect of minimum wage changes on placements (SEG 220).
