Independent auditors from James Marta & Co. presented a 2018–19 Independent Auditor’s Report and delivered an unmodified (clean) opinion on CCOE’s financial statements. Auditor Jesse Deol highlighted a $1.8 million revenue increase and a positive $1.3 million change in net position while noting a state compliance finding related to School Safety Plan timing; the Board accepted the audit (SEG 316–321).
Subsequent interim reports reviewed by Associate Superintendent Aaron Heinz presented sound fund balances but reiterated long-term pension pressures as the primary fiscal risk. The Board approved the First Interim and later the Second Interim Report after staff detailed measures to reduce discretionary spending and monitor multi-year projections (SEG 322–330; SEG 552–556). Heinz emphasized the need for budget committee involvement and continued monitoring.
