"Alissa reported on current activities of the IAL team including giving free books and literacy kits to children," the July minutes record. Project Director Karisa Williams and Digital Literacy Specialist Alissa Maas later provided data showing thousands of books distributed across the county, hundreds of iPads loaned, and thousands of hours of literacy engagement recorded through F2B dashboards.
Staff outlined next steps including AWE station installations at libraries and pilot parent trainings to support book sharing at home. The board complimented outreach efforts and was encouraged that early literacy work continued through the pandemic via virtual programming and curbside distributions.
