The board handled a number of routine and staffing items at the Aug. 12 meeting.
On the consent agenda trustees approved multiple minutes and payroll/warrant registers, an athletic trainer agreement for Minarets High School, donations (including $5,000 from the Silkwood Family Foundation and a 1985 Ford water truck), and overnight field trips. A motion by Barbara Bigelow to approve the consent agenda was seconded by Jack Thornburg and passed unanimously.
The board approved an agreement with Solution Tree for mathematics professional development aimed at strengthening teachers' instructional strategies. The board also approved Provisional Internship Permits for Jesse Darrah and Kathryn Mascola to address special education staffing shortages; motions for both PIPs passed unanimously.
Director of IT Filiberto Camacho presented the need to purchase additional Dell Chromebooks to accommodate student and staff growth; the board approved the purchase unanimously. The minutes note that fee collection and program participation monitoring will continue for applicable programs.
There were no visitors addressing the board during the meeting and no reportable closed-session actions.
