The Chawanakee Unified School District board unanimously approved accepting a California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP) Implementation Grant for North Fork School totaling $1,187,500 over five years (July 1, 2024–June 30, 2029). Katie Bethune, North Fork principal, told trustees the award is for Cohort 3 and asked the board to approve the district’s acceptance of the grant.
"We have been awarded $1,187,500 over the next five years," Bethune said, as she described plans to use the funds for community school programming. The board approved the grant by motion from Jack Thornburg, seconded by Jessie Hutchens; the vote was recorded as unanimous.
