Board hears SELPA fiscal snapshot and plans for local Teacher of the Year process

At the March Superintendents Council meeting reported to the board on April 8, Chuck Wayman said district superintendents discussed creating a Teacher of the Year program modeled on the state-level process, with the intent of implementing a local process in spring 2027. Wayman also said CCOE staff presented on Differentiated Assistance and provided a snapshot of SELPA budget status to chief business officials and superintendents.
The report to the board was informational; board members did not take formal action. Wayman noted interviews are underway for the Assistant Superintendent of Special Education/SELPA Director position, which is tied to SELPA leadership capacity.
