Manager Megan Haselden updated the council on the financial audit and outlined general fund balances through Aug. 15, 2025. She reviewed DPW equipment purchases and how those purchases are recorded in the budget, discussed the sale of old equipment and additional equipment needs, and said there may be an equipment swap; the council agreed to hold a special meeting to review and accept the audit once it is complete.
During public comment, a community member urged that DPW equipment be appraised before any sale or swap to establish a record of value. Another attendee asked about blight enforcement; Haselden said the second phase of ticketing is going out soon and discussed options for coordinating enforcement with the township and Laurium. No binding operational decisions were recorded beyond scheduling a special audit meeting.
