Directors of Maintenance of Operations and Nutrition Services presented vendor lists the district expects will exceed $5,000 annually, and trustees voted to approve the lists at the June 17 meeting.
Director of MOT Nick Von Flue and Nutrition Services Manager Jennifer Stanley detailed expected annual expenditures for operations and food service vendors, including Sysco Central California ($300,000), JS West Propane ($100,000), SC Fuels (Diesel $116,000; Gas $65,000), Producers Milk ($40,000), and a long vendor roster for kitchen supplies and services. Trustee Jack Thornburg asked whether staff continue to seek more competitive vendors during the year; Von Flue replied they do search for cheaper vendors throughout the year.
The board approved the vendor lists and contract renewals for technology and services (Aeries, Frontline, Parsec, and others) that were presented during the meeting. Approvals allow the district to proceed with purchases and to use active piggyback technology contracts for streamlined procurement.
