Chatom Elementary Principal Sara Cruz told the Board that April featured Family Literacy Night, the annual egg hunt, Fly It Day, field trips to the Modesto Children's Museum and Columbia State Park, and a visit from Glasses to Classes, which provided vision screenings and free glasses for students in need.
Mountain View Principal Lauren Lanum reported that "all but one student completed CAASPP Testing before spring break," and that attendance increased by 1.23% between March and April. Lanum also said deputies from the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office visited campus and handed out ice cream to 56 students as an attendance incentive. Chatom State Preschool Director Sandra Nunes reported 30 students are registered to start next year and summarized preschool end‑of‑year events.
