Barry County commissioners approved a contract with 46 Entertainment and an addendum with Peachtree Entertainment to provide county services for the Rock the Country event scheduled for August 8–9, 2026, at the Barry County Expo Center.
The motion was moved by Mike Callton and seconded by Bruce Campbell and passed unanimously (Getty absent). The contract specifies county services including 911 support, sheriff services and emergency management oversight; the minutes record the approval but do not include contract dollar figures.
Commissioner Jon Smelker and Sheriff Leaf discussed transportation logistics; Smelker asked whether Barry County Transit could provide shuttle service and whether the site could accommodate large buses. Sheriff Leaf said he did not anticipate any issues. County staff will coordinate event logistics with the contracted vendors and local public-safety officials.
