The Barry County Board of Commissioners on July 28 adopted Resolution #26-21 authorizing submission of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application for the Delton Stepping Stones Housing Project and appointing the County Administrator as the certifying official if the grant is awarded.
Chair David Jackson opened a public hearing on the application at 9:34 a.m.; Delton resident Eric Zuzga spoke in favor of the project. The Board then voted to adopt the resolution after a motion by Bob Teunessen, seconded by Marsha Bassett. The roll call recorded Ayes: Bassett, Callton, Campbell, Hatfield, Jackson, Smelker and Teunessen; Getty was absent.
The resolution authorizes the County Administrator to accept the grant if awarded and to sign all necessary documents on the county's behalf. No dollar amount for the grant was specified in the minutes. The next procedural step is submission of the CDBG application as authorized by the resolution; if awarded, county staff will execute required grant documents.
