"The mayor and council have called for a bond referendum for potentially funding construction documents for a performing arts center and the construction thereof," the city manager said, urging committee members and residents to attend upcoming sessions to learn more. Staff noted two community meetings have already occurred, and another is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m.
Staff framed the meetings as informational: a presentation will cover basics of the proposal and then answer community questions. The city manager said the committee is welcome to attend and invite neighbors to the sessions.
No vote or formal action on a ballot measure occurred at this meeting; staff emphasized the sessions are to provide information ahead of any referendum process.
