Council approves disbursements, accepts Jan. 5 minutes with one dissent

Councilman Steve Ahlborn moved to approve a corrected disbursement list after the clerk said invoices for Ackerman Estvold had not been tallied into the total. The motion to approve the disbursement list for $13,038.94 passed on a roll-call vote with Ahlborn, Blaide Connor, Rob Hartsock and Lupita Connor recorded as voting yes.
City Clerk/Treasurer Loretta Vollmer also presented administrative figures and a records workload summary: she reported the Google business profile showed "19 phone calls, 76 people asked for directions, 44 visits to our website," that $26,059.72 was billed for utilities and that the city received 91 credit-card payments totaling $10,741.89. On public records, she said requests rose from 9 in 2023 to 32 in 2024 and 30 in 2025, and that they are currently at 34 requests in 2026, which she said is putting "a strain on the budget for staff time/payroll and the attorney for reviewing these requests." Council also voted to accept the meeting minutes of Jan. 5, 2026; the vote carried with Councilwoman Lupita Connor recorded as the lone no vote when Rob Hartsock moved to accept the minutes.
