The Chamblee City Council voted unanimously July 21 to adopt an ordinance that rezones three parcels, including 3515 London Road, and to amend the official zoning map. The city attorney read the ordinance aloud, identifying parcel IDs and district changes; council then moved to adopt the rezoning as read.
A council member proposed a conditions amendment specifying that the zoning map amendment would not become effective until a final plat splitting the subject properties is approved by the planning and development director and recorded with the clerk of the superior court of DeKalb County. The council accepted the amendment and approved the rezoning without recorded opposition. As read by the city attorney, the ordinance covers rezoning from Neighborhood Residential-1 (NR-1) to Village Residential (VR) for identified parcels and related map amendments.
Council did not attach an ordinance number in the transcript; the amendment also referenced a land-swap resolution signed by the mayor and city council on 12/21/2021 as context for relying upon the map amendment during planning-review processes. The new zoning designation will become effective only after the recordation steps specified in the accepted conditions are completed.
