Eric told the board the department purchased a projector and sound system for outdoor movies after getting three bids. "That was $10,000, and we got 3 bids on that," he said, and added that staff found a sponsor to make the program net‑zero. Eric later said, "Carney Price Chopper has, graciously donated $2,000 for our movies in the park this year."
Board members discussed plans to host food trucks at Movies in the Park and other events. Staff said contracts are being finalized with vendors so trucks can operate at Lions Park, the splash pad, Jesse James Park and other city properties with approvals made through the Board of Aldermen where required. Staff said one vendor (Roccolita's) has stepped away and Slap's Barbecue (Stevie Ray's) is being finalized as a replacement for some events.
