Staff reports George project moving to construction and Wayland Ventures tapped for Colgate site

Planning staff told the commission that Denton Floyd's George development completed the outstanding planning and zoning steps and is moving into construction and building-review stages. "They're moving on to the construction and building approval stages," staff said, and staff said adjacent residential and commercial spaces at recent SCMU projects are nearly full.
Staff also said an agreement with Clark's Landing names Wayland Ventures (Louisville) as the developer responsible for the 40-acre Colgate site and that the first project plans are expected in the coming months. The staff update noted these milestones as evidence that SCMU-area revitalization is advancing and that the SCMU ordinance will be reviewed on its five-year schedule (last updated June 2022).
