Planning staff summarized the request, saying the property is a corner lot with two front yards, the fence is about 90 feet from the intersection and extends roughly 7 feet past the façade. "The applicant is requesting a variance for a front corner yard privacy fence," staff said, adding the project "is not injurious to public safety, health or morals" and that the strict application of the zoning ordinance could result in practical difficulty for the property owner. Applicant Anastasia Mano told the board she has "lived there for going on 9 years" and said the prior fence had been deteriorating when she replaced it.
Board members asked no substantive questions before a member moved to approve the variance; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote. Staff recorded that because the fence does not encroach into an easement and is intended for child safety around a pool, no additional conditions were required. The matter will be noted for the planning commission's upcoming meeting.
