The Steubenville City Council recorded two formal actions at its July 14 meeting.
1) Mineral lease: Mr. McManamon moved and Mr. Albaugh seconded a motion to accept the mineral lease bid. Roll call recorded six ayes (Walker, Albaugh, Gorman, Hoover, McManamon, Terpenning) and one no (Mayo). The motion was declared carried by Mayor Petrella. Law Director Costa Mastros said the city must complete due diligence and that financial details will be finalized over the coming weeks.
2) Salt procurement: After City Manager Michael Johnson described widely varying ODOT bid results, Mr. McManamon moved and Ms. Hoover seconded a motion to withdraw from the ODOT salt contract and pursue a Jefferson County-coordinated procurement. Roll call recorded all ayes. Staff will issue bid notices and coordinate storage and logistics with Jefferson County.
