Elk County commissioners approved a request from Jay Township to pass through $500 in liquid-fuel funds to cover tar and shipping for a PennDOT-approved project.
The chair explained that the state sends a county share of liquid-fuel funds and the county distributes amounts to municipalities after PennDOT approves individual projects. "I would make a motion that we approve that request for liquid fuel funds," the chair said. The board approved the request by voice vote.
County staff noted municipalities must apply to PennDOT for an approved project before the county can pass through the funds; Jay Township's application was on file and the board authorized the payment.
