Council considered an ordinance to approve a public meeting AV policy and a pilot program to post meeting recordings on the city website. Staff described the pilot as an 18-meeting trial to post recordings while the council investigates livestreaming capability, camera needs and staffing or contractor costs. "This is just to do it for, like, 18 months or 18 meetings," a staff member said.
Members discussed that live streaming would require additional cameras, staff or a contracted vendor, and recommended starting with the pilot recordings before committing budget for live broadcasts. One council member offered to consult a person experienced in live meetings to estimate costs; staff said they would assemble an information packet outlining requirements and potential budget needs.
