Town reports progress on marina docks, fuel system permitting and Morris Park Road design

Town staff provided a broad update on marina and related infrastructure projects. The stationary dock is nearing completion with minor fencing remaining; floating dock decking and a power platform are being installed and Duke Energy is coordinating installation of an additional pole to provide full electrical service. Staff said the fuel pump system permitting is being pursued in phases with Rutherford County and that a modular building has received verbal approval pending final permitting.
At Pool Creek Dock staff described operational controls including six designated parking spaces with a 2.5-hour limit and confirmed that private commercial activity is prohibited on public docks unless authorized by contract. Design drawings for Morris Park Road and dock construction are expected within about a week and a half, and staff said dirt-moving operations are scheduled to begin on July 6. A temporary short-term asphalt repair (with potential use of an iron plate) was discussed for a culvert near the church while more permanent repairs are planned.
Staff said Foothills Regional will deliver an updated plan within the week and that a public hearing and special called session are anticipated in early August for formal consideration of pending plans.
