The board considered a redevelopment assistance capital program (RACP) agreement involving Einstein Medical Center Montgomery. A board member disclosed a potential conflict and recused himself for this agenda item before the board acted.
“I sit on the board of the Montgomery County Green Development Authority...I recused myself on these matters,” the member said, explaining the oversight relationship and why he had stepped aside for the vote. Staff told the board that the contract had been reviewed by county officials and was considered to be in good form. The board then moved, seconded and authorized the municipal action needed to accept or facilitate the grant agreement.
Officials clarified that the grant funds do not pass through the township’s coffers but instead are administered through the county development authority and partner organizations; the board approved authorization by voice vote.
