District staff updated the committee on ongoing facility maintenance and repairs. Staff said work is under way to replace roofs at High Desert, and that shade‑structure materials have arrived for Vasquez High School so installation can begin during an upcoming break; staff emphasized noisy work will be scheduled when students are not on campus.
In the facility assessment appendix staff pointed to completed and in‑progress items: restroom fixtures and drinking fountains in bungalows have been replaced, damaged exterior wood panels and a fence that was struck by a vehicle have been repaired or scheduled for repair, and staff said sprinklers are currently spraying building exteriors and should be relocated. Eric Sahen said he will perform weekly checks on progress to ensure the work is completed as scheduled.
