’80s documentary premiere drew strong online interest, organizers say

Diane Seabrent, community development staff, gave a brief report on the documentary premiere for the "City of Las Vegas — the 1980s." She said the premiere at the Beverly theater included a reception, opening remarks by the mayor, and strong online interest with more than 140,000 YouTube views to date.
"We did send out a 121 RSVPs, and of that, 85 did attend," Seabrent said, noting the larger impact is measured by online viewership. Commissioners encouraged staff to make the next premiere a larger invitation event and to continue promoting the decade films; Seabrent said the 1990s film is planned for next year and the final wrap-up film will be completed in 2028.
