At the Oct. 15 meeting, Associate Superintendent of Human Resources Dr. Marti Tienda-Ayala presented certificates honoring Flor Garcia as the District's 2024–2025 Teacher of the Year and Brenda Venegas as the 2024–2025 Classified Employee of the Year. Dr. Tienda-Ayala read nomination material praising Garcia's passion for students and ability to create a welcoming classroom. Venegas was recognized for building family relationships and connecting families with community resources.
Board President Sylvia Macias congratulated the awardees and said the Title I conference was "a great success" and that she had enjoyed workshops and parent suggestions. Trustees also acknowledged the students and staff present at the meeting. The recognitions were ceremonial and required no Board action.
