Selectboard seeks invoice copies from Hubbard's after inconsistent statements and late fees

Board members and auditors described confusion over Hubbard's billing statements and said some invoices appear to be missing or duplicated. The auditor said some statements go back to 2018 and showed a balance but lacked clear invoice documentation. "They keep sending us just through '25, but they told us that there was a balance as far back as 02/18," the auditor reported.
The treasurer said the statements don't make it clear which invoices have been paid and which remain outstanding and that the town needs detailed invoice copies to execute payment. She told Hubbard's the Selectboard will send a written request asking for copies and clarification. "We want to pay them. Sending statements does not clarify what is due for us," she said.
Board members asked that a cover letter be drafted under the Selectboard's signature to accompany payments or correspondence asking Hubbard's to provide invoice-level detail; the board agreed a letter would be prepared, signed and mailed the next day.
