County marks August as Child Support Awareness Month; CSEA reports $23 million collection through June

Price, who identified herself as the agency administrator, said the office is handling a caseload of nearly 23,000 cases and reported $23,000,000 in child-support collections through June 30, with $521,000 collected in the agency's lobby via in-person payments. "Child support is vital for families, children, the economy," she said, and thanked agency staff for their work. Commissioners read the proclamation and praised staff efforts.
The proclamation recognized the role of child-support enforcement in recouping state funds and supporting families across Lorain County. Commissioners and staff noted the collections help both families and the county's ability to recoup state contributions to programs such as TANF and public health services.
