Selectboard approves applying for state connecting-segments road program

The highway official said a May 1 deadline exists for a letter of intent to enter a state "connecting segments" road program that can support culvert and bank-stabilization projects, and recommended the Selectboard approve submitting the town's intent to apply. "We have a May 1 deadline on that," the official said.
The official described program funding language as "$80.20 money or in kind money," said the program requires defining projects later and noted a completion date of 09/30/2027. After brief discussion about eligibility and the ability to identify specific projects later, a motion to apply and sign the letter of intent was made, seconded and carried.
Members agreed to follow up by reviewing the application materials and identifying priority culvert and road segments to include if the town advances to project selection. The official said he will work with Patty and Bill and circulate the draft form for signatures.
