Secretary reports House-passed bills and introduces two appointees to the Senate

On March 12, the Senate secretary read into the record a list of bills the House passed that day, including references to Senate File 2215 (changes to deferred annuities), House File 703 (information on certain student loan programs) and multiple bills concerning higher education, consumer lending and other areas.
The secretary also announced two gubernatorial appointees. "It is Renee Schulte. She's to my right here," the secretary said, introducing Schulte, who was described as "both the chair and member of the Iowa Parole Board." The secretary named Mark Campbell as director of the Department of Administrative Services and said both appointees "will be available for 30 minutes afterwards to meet with any of you." No votes on the appointees were recorded in the transcript during the session.
