Dr. Reanna Mendoza, the district Director of Assessment, Accountability, and Parent Engagement, reported that CAASPP and ELPAC data show year-over-year improvement across the South Whittier School District. Mendoza said the district's trajectory is positive and that English Learner scores are improving alongside general assessment gains.
Mendoza cautioned that, despite improvements, significant work remains to address learning loss associated with the COVID pandemic. She also compared South Whittier's growth with surrounding districts and reported comparable progress; no specific percentage-point gains were recorded in the minutes.
