Loma Vista Principal Kristine Carreon presented a recognition of 15 students who reclassified out of English Learner status. The minutes list the students by name, including Nathan Martinez Ruiz, Melanie Solorio Rico, Rafael Lopez Ramirez and 12 others. Carreon said the students have worked hard to meet reclassification criteria and that reclassification opens additional academic opportunities.
Carreon also reported school-level CAASPP gains in English Language Arts and math, reviewed ELPAC performance, and described intervention strategies, SMART goals, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and social-emotional supports. She credited teachers' professional development and investment in first instruction as drivers of progress.
