Parks maintenance expanded and concessions extension recommended; Jameson House garden, caboose donation announced

Administration presented Ordinance No. 24-26 to amend the existing mowing contract to include additional city-owned properties — the new City Hall site, the Jameson House property, and enhanced maintenance along Nagel Road and Avon Road. Safety/Public Service Director Duane Streator described it as "an amendment to the current mowing contract to accommodate additional City properties," and noted Moscarino Landscape & Design submitted competitive pricing; the contract is in its final year with rebidding planned for early January next year.
Separately, Ordinance No. 26-26 would allow a one-year extension of the concessions agreement with The Big Show Ltd. at the Avon Municipal Aquatic Facility; Mayor Jensen said the vendor has successfully operated concessions and the Administration recommended staying with the incumbent. Mayor Jensen also announced a community garden project at Jameson House with 30 raised beds and volunteer maintenance, and that Mr. Ron Larson donated the Olde Avon Village train caboose to be moved to the Jameson House site for restoration and display.
