Ordinance No. 34-26 would let the city enter an agreement with R-7 Motors, Inc. so the developer may begin site work and the city can relocate a gas line needed for culvert repairs near Petitti Garden Center. Mayor Bryan Jensen said the project will replace two oval culverts with a single box culvert to reduce clogging and improve drainage. He estimated the gas-line relocation timeline at "approximately one year from agreement signing to completion," and emphasized the need to sign the agreement promptly to initiate work with the gas company.
City Engineer Ryan Cummins said the development includes substantial storm-management capacity and that replacing the culvert system will significantly improve drainage in a historically problematic area during heavy rains. Details of site plans, signage and landscaping were described as forthcoming and will be brought to Council for review.
