Council approves $229,500 facilities master-planning contract with Toledo firm

Council authorized a facilities master-planning contract to inventory and evaluate city-owned buildings and sites. Shaw told council the work will provide a qualitative and quantitative analysis of city facilities and suggested optional tasks including structural scanning ($3,500) and enhanced renderings ($15,000) that would be authorized only if the council chooses to fund them.
"It'll take them about 6 to 8 months to get a really good picture on that," Shaw said when asked about schedule, adding the full picture could take 8 to 12 months if optional tasks are pursued. Ordinance 84-2026 accepting the proposal and appropriating $229,500 passed as an emergency measure.
Council emphasized the study is fact-finding and that no predetermined location or decision has been made; Shaw said the process is intended to vet options, not select a specific outcome without further public input.
