City staff recommended and the council approved a design contract for waterline improvements serving Central Park, Garden Park and Rosewood Place. Public works staff said six engineering firms responded to the solicitation and American StructurePoint was ranked highest; the firm proposed $93,738 to complete the scope of services.
"This 1 is much needed on Central Park, Garden Park, and Rosewood Place," Shaw said, explaining that older 4-inch and 6-inch cast-iron mains are in place and should be replaced. Ordinance 83-2026, accepting the proposal and appropriating the budgeted amount, was introduced by Councilmember Hansen and passed as an emergency measure.
Shaw told council the work was budgeted in the 2026 capital improvement plan and account numbers are included in the ordinance packet. Council members raised no further questions before the motion was approved.
