He also announced a diaper giveaway and resource fair on Aug. 22 at Anna Kyle Elementary School, open to the general public, and offered condolences as the board remembered county employees who recently died, including Rosie Laureano and Chief Marlon Washington.
The board noted the grant application is part of a patchwork of state and local funding designed to connect people experiencing homelessness to housing and supportive services; James said the request is focused on short‑ and long‑term stability for affected residents.
