Residents tell Solano supervisors to block data‑centers over water, energy and jobs concerns

Janine, who identified herself as representing the senior advocacy group Grama, told the board that large data facilities have very high energy and water demands and create local environmental harms: "A single large facility can use as much power as a small city... Millions of gallons of water are used daily to cool hot computer servers," she said, warning of higher utility bills for seniors.
Speakers framed the issue as both an environmental concern and an equity issue for vulnerable residents. Their remarks preceded a board motion to forward a staff‑presented ballot measure related to data centers.
