Fire chief asks council to explore financing to front grant-funded tanker and equipment

He asked the council for approval to pursue financing or other mechanisms to provide upfront funds so purchases can proceed before reimbursement. “What I'm kinda asking for is the council's approval to seek financing from an institution, to front this money,” he said. Council directed staff to explore financing options and return with specific proposals and costs for council consideration before the largest grant expires.
