Site representative highlights safety, education grants and announces retirement

A company site representative gave an annual community report to the Gregory City Council, saying the operation recorded no injuries last year, successfully handled a temporary peak workforce of about 900 people on top of its usual 600 and earned five safety and environmental awards.
"We're gonna send everybody home the same way they came in or better," the presenter said, describing safety as the site's top priority. He walked through environmental monitoring at three local schools — monitors installed near the old East Bliss School, the high school and an elementary school in Gregory — noting the University of Texas at Austin independently analyzes the data and that the posted third-quarter results show no long-term air-quality change.
The presenter also detailed community investments, including roughly $750,000 in 2025 grants largely from the ExxonMobil Foundation and a $200,000 award for programming at GP. He said the company raised a record $286,000 for United Way and described a new partnership to extend mobile medical services into San Patricio County.
He closed by saying he plans to retire and encouraged residents to continue engagement with the company's local managers. "I'll be retired," he said, and asked the public to contact Ed or Valerie with questions about upcoming reports.
