Board approves contract for South Lot fueling and site improvements

Assistant Public Works Director Zydlowski presented a recommendation to award a contract to Copenhagen for fueling and site-grading improvements at the Public Works South Lot. He told trustees the bid "did come in over budget" and that staff plan to use balance reserves from TIF No. 5 to cover the difference if the board approves the award.
Zydlowski outlined work that will be included under the contract: moving fueling dispensers into an existing concrete area, installing underground piping to the tank to stop frequent hose use and spillage, adding a canopy and lighting, upgrading software, and final grading for a planned near-term fire-department training area. He said a pre-construction meeting with the contractor is scheduled early next week. The board approved the new-business package that included this award in a roll-call vote.
