The Timnath Town Council approved a resolution authorizing temporary and permanent easements for the Cobb Lake Water Transmission project after staff reported the easement terms and negotiated amounts.
Carolyn (staff) told council that Cobb Lake Water Authority followed a standard acquisition process — notifying the town, appraising property, and making offers the town found reasonable. She said the Cam North temporary and permanent easement offer is $37,113 and the Cam South easement offer is $69,202. Staff identified a parcel‑ID error in the Cam North exhibits attached to the packet; the legal descriptions and maps in the packet are correct, and staff will correct the attached parcel ID before the documents are executed.
Council asked whether the easements would affect a pending sale; staff said any sale would be subject to the easement and would not prevent sale. Council moved and approved the resolution by voice vote.
Why it matters: Easements allow the water authority to construct and maintain transmission facilities; the council’s approval permits the project to proceed while preserving the town’s property sale process.
Next steps: Staff will finalize corrected exhibits for signature and proceed with the easement agreements.
