Council directs manager to review citywide DPW fee schedule for 2027 implementation

Council Member Daniel Freeman asked the city manager to explore ways the city could collect or save additional revenue to avoid utility rate increases and requested a comprehensive review of fees charged across city departments. City Manager Michael Stelmaszek said he had begun looking into the issue and council voted to have the manager, department heads and the audit committee prepare a revised fee schedule to start January 1, 2027.
The motion was moved by Freeman and seconded by Olson and carried unanimously. Stelmaszek indicated work would begin after the start of the fiscal year in July and that the audit committee would be involved in the review.
