Teacher asks board to back Prop 55, warns funding could lapse in 2030

Carlos Rivera, a South Whittier School District teacher and member of the South Whittier Teachers Association, addressed the Board during public comment to urge support for Proposition 55.
Rivera said Prop 55 is due to expire in 2030 and warned that losing those funds "would be devastating" to the district. He said the measure is not a tax increase and asked that the Board support Prop 55 alongside the South Whittier Teachers Association.
